In 2007 I ended a 20 year career as a manager with a Fortune 100 healthcare company to follow my passion for coaching. I have been fortunate to enjoy an extraordinary life and I believe that all of us have the birth right to be fully engaged and completely excited about playing the important games of our lives.

During my corporate career I lead organizations of up to 85 people in R&D, Project Management, Business Process Reengineering, Engineering Automation, and Operations.

I was a trainer for the internal leadership development program where I taught Performance Management, Conflict Management, Team Development, Situational Leadership, and Value Based Decision Making.

Meaningful change has always been a passion of mine and I introduced several strategic initiatives into the organization including ProChain Project Management, Crucial Conversations, and internal coaching program.

Prior to my corporate career I was a member of the Faculty at Duke University and a Senior Staff Fellow at the National Institutes of Health.

I have been involved with service and non-profit organizations since I first joined Key Club in high school. For 10 years I was an active member of my local Lions Club serving for two years as president and recognized as a Melvin Jones Fellow.

In 1974 I joined the Butler Cave Conservations Society. Formed in 1968 the BCCS is the oldest private cave conservation organization in the world. During my time as a member I have served as a member of the board of directors and as expedition leader.

Currently I am serving as the alumni liaison for Project WILD. Project WILD (Wilderness Initiatives for Learning at Duke) is a program I helped create while a graduate student at Duke. The program offers wilderness challenges for incoming freshmen. Operated entirely by undergraduates the program is the longest running of its type in the country.

I am a trained Technology of Participation facilitator and work with teams to develop winning strategies and plan successful initiatives.

Because I believe it is possible to talk with anyone about anything, I provide seminars on effective communications and I have delivered the award winning Crucial Conversations training to over 30 groups of individuals who want to become masterful at talking about difficult issues.
